Southern France

A beautiful coast filled with beaches, race cars and yachts. What more could you ask for?

In August 2014, my brother and I took a trip to Europe and started our two week journey in the South of France.

Our Trip Highlights:

  1. Nice
  2. Monaco
  3. Start Line of the Monaco Grand Prix
  4. Marseille
  5. Calanques National Park

As soon as we arrived in Nice we took the bus 100 to Monaco for a mere 1.50 €. It was a very scenic route and took around 40min.

Monaco Lunch

After a yummy, expensive lunch we walked the harbor and took a bus back to Nice.

In Nice we walked to the top of Parc de la Colline du Chateau for some awesome panoramic views of the coast.

We also walked around Vieux Nice and the Promenade du Paillon and ended our day at the famous beaches! Keep in mind they are rocky beaches… It REALLY hurts to walk on them let alone getting in and out of the ocean.

TIP: Don’t forget your shoes 🙂

We ended our Southern France trip in Marseille! I must say, the architecture is beautiful, the weather is nice, and the awesome Calanques National Park is close but it is one of the dirtiest cities I have visited in Europe. My brother and I felt unsafe walking some major streets, even in mid day. Just as a heads up. (This was also my experience, maybe yours will be different.)

The Calanques National Park was stunning from our boat tour.
